How is cordiality meditation practiced
How Warmth Meditation Helps You Find Balance and Balance - News - 2021
At this point we are all familiar with the far-reaching health benefits of meditation. It can help you deal with adversity, relieve stress, lose weight, and even become a better parent.
There are a variety of popular meditation practices these days - from transcendental meditation to stress reduction through mindfulness - but all of these techniques lack a focus on the heart.
Enter the Heartfulness Institute.
The Heartfulness Relaxation and Meditation Technique is the most widely used meditation practice that you have probably never heard of.
What is cordiality meditation?
Cordiality is a simple, modern, and methodical approach to meditation. Instead of holding your breath or repeating a mantra, all you have to do is focus on your heart to develop inner strength and serenity.
This form of meditation "gives many people the opportunity to live their lives simply by listening to their hearts," shares Kamlesh D. Patel, global leader in heart meditation.
Do you need to find balance? Focus on the heart. Looking for guidance? Focus on the heart. Are you looking for relaxation? Just focus on the heart!
Who is practicing this?
Cordiality is a super inclusive form of meditation that has been around for over 100 years. There are currently over a million people (in 100 countries!) Practicing cordiality, and the method is growing every day around the world.
Heartfulness is rooted in the Raja Yoga tradition and can be done alone or in a group. And the practice is offered for free, so you don't have to spend thousands of dollars on training or spend weeks on extended workshops and classes.
The practice is worldly, straightforward, informal and - oh, yes - you can start right away.
5 tips to get you started
Fascinated? Let's do it. Here are five tips on how to practice heart meditation today:
1. Allow 20 minutes for your "heart time". If possible, always meditate in the same place at the same time to unify your practice and create a quiet space to return to each day.
2. Sit comfortably and relaxed with your hands and legs drawn in. There's no need to keep your hands or limbs in an awkward position - just focus on feeling peaceful and relaxed. Let your arms rest and land where it is most comfortable.
3. Take a moment to tune into your heart. Imagine a light filling it and expanding it to grab your attention. When you focus on the subtle idea of lightness in your heart, you will begin to feel a vibration and energy within you.
4. Return to this focus of light in the heart as your mind wanders. Thoughts that arise will naturally disappear and after some time of practice will no longer bother you.
5. After you finish your meditation, take some time to reflect on the practice. Write a short entry in your diary, including just a sentence about your experience. As you move through your day (and keep practicing), you will find yourself returning to your heart.
This is how you expand your practice
If you're looking for community recreation, the Heartfulness Institute offers tons of free classes and workshops around the world. If you're more at home, the institute has plenty of free online resources such as self-guided videos. They even have guided meditations through the Heartfulness app on IOS and Android when you need to relax on the go.
Do you live in the United States and would you like to practice heartfulness in an inspiring, lively group setting? The Heartfulness Institute is running three large-scale meditation conferences this summer in Detroit (June 4th), Los Angeles (June 12th), and New Jersey (June 25th) - on a donation only basis.
The event in each city features guided meditation and entertainment with Kamlesh D. Patel and special guest speakers. Gopi Kallayil, chief evangelist for Google and advocate of mindfulness in the workplace, will take the stage in both Detroit and Los Angeles. Evolving Out Loud comedian Kyle Cease will share his transforming and inspiring message in Los Angeles and motivational speaker and New York Times bestselling author Gabrielle Bernstein (Can Work Miracles) will speak in New Jersey.
Registration is required to attend Heartful Conferences - please visit www.heartfulconference.org.
