How can I get Java for Android

How do I get Java for mobile devices?

The Java functionality for mobile devices is generally integrated by the device manufacturers. It CANNOT be downloaded or installed by customers. You need to check with the device manufacturer to see if this technology is available in your device.

Some PDAs (Blackberry, Palm), tablets (iPad, Android), smartphones (iPhone, Android), game consoles (Nintendo Wii), MP3 / MP4 players (iPod) and other Personal Mobile devices do not support the Java plug-in . You can check the device manufacturer's website to see if Java is available for your particular device.

Developers can visit the Oracle Technology Network (OTN) for more information on developing Java applications for mobile devices. Java for mobile devices is built on the Java Platform, Micro Edition (Java ME), which provides a robust, flexible environment for applications that run on mobile and other embedded devices: cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), TV sets -Top boxes and printers. Java ME includes flexible user interfaces, robust security, integrated network protocols, and support for network and offline applications that can be dynamically downloaded. Applications based on Java ME are portable across many devices and still use the native functions of each device.
