Kazan: The attacker shoots nine people at a Russian school

The head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnichanow, spoke of a “great tragedy”. He called the perpetrator a "terrorist". First of all, an anti-terrorist mission was also proclaimed. In the afternoon, however, there was no longer any suspicion of terrorism. As the investigative committee announced, criminal proceedings for murder have been initiated against the young man.

The act caused horror across the country. In the capital, Moscow, government representatives and State Duma deputies observed the victims with a minute's silence. The Ministry of Education recommended that all Russian schools increase security. To this end, "additional measures" should be taken, it said.
