Mesotherapy can regrow hair
Mesotherapy for hair loss: treatment and side effects
Hair loss mesotherapy has long been a technique used in medicine, particularly for aesthetic procedures, which is easy to use, has virtually no side effects, and usually gives promising results.
Currently it is mainly used in cosmetic procedures to combat problems such as cellulite, acne or wrinkles, as well as in facial rejuvenation procedures. At the same time, it is a perfect complement for strengthening hair after the transplant.
But what is mesotherapy for hair? In the following lines we explain not only what hair mesotherapy is, but also how it is performed, what results we can expect and why it is worth thinking about when thinking about solving problems with hair loss.
What is hair mesotherapy?
It can be said that mesotherapy for hair loss is a treatment for hair loss, which consists in injecting intradermal microinjections - less than 4 millimeters from the skin surface - under the skin - very low doses of compounds, including drugs, trace elements, vitamins, Hormone regulators, amino acids, blood vasodilators, etc. Mesotherapy stimulates hair growth and is therefore used as a prophylaxis against alopecia.
These substances and nutrients, injected into the needles in hair mesotherapy, and which vary depending on the area being treated and the purpose of the treatment, act on the scalp by stimulating cell regeneration, helping properly transplanted vesicles, and promoting their growth.
Mesotherapy is sometimes used to regrow hair in the implanted area after a hair transplant as it strengthens and accelerates the growth of new hair follicles. However, it can also be used as an independent treatment without prior hair transplant to prevent hair loss before hair surgery is needed.
How does the procedure work?
To perform this technique, the skin must be clean and dry. Although it causes little discomfort, an anesthetic gel is sometimes used to numb the area before microinjecting the treated area. These injections are done very quickly, with a space of about two centimeters between them.
The number of injections depends on each patient and the situation of the scalp and hair. Each session lasts between 15 and 30 minutes and typically one session contains between 30 and 40 injections. The number and frequency of the sessions also vary depending on the case: As a rule, the results are visible after the third or fourth session.
What results do we achieve with mesotherapy against hair loss?
The hair mesotherapy stimulates the hair tissue, regenerates the epidermal cells and activates the blood circulation. It is very useful as a complementary treatment in hair transplant patients to strengthen their transplanted hair. However, to prevent baldness, the results of hair mesotherapy are more effective in the initial stages of the hair loss process.
In any case, we should not forget that mesotherapy does not cure male pattern baldness. But it is very beneficial and recommended after a hair transplant as it nourishes and moisturizes the scalp, stimulates cell regeneration and blood flow, strengthens hair follicles, restores hormonal balance and eliminates infections, making our hair look healthier and more radiant.
What are the side effects of mesotherapy?
Since this technique is performed on the surface of the dermis, hair mesotherapy causes almost no side effects and they are all temporary and without any risk to our health. In some cases, some of the side effects of hair mesotherapy may include mild injection site pain, itching, inflammation, or a mild headache.
To avoid these consequences, doctors usually recommend using anti-inflammatory creams after each session. In addition, at the end of the session, the patient must avoid humid places such as saunas or swimming pools. It is also highly recommended that the treated area be protected from direct sunlight.
Both men and women can undergo this treatment. However, it is not recommended for pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers, minors, people undergoing chemotherapy, diabetes, heart disease, kidney or liver failure.
Does mesotherapy work on hair?
As we just explained, hair mesotherapy stimulates hair follicle growth so it can be used as a standalone technique to prevent hair loss or in combination with other treatments.
Many people ask: "Is the hair mesotherapy permanent?" or "How long does the mesotherapy last?" Well, hair mesotherapy works and has proven to be very effective. However, the results and duration largely depend on each case, the quality of the products used during treatment, and the skills and experience of the medical team.
For these reasons, it is very important to determine the most suitable treatment before deciding on mesotherapy for hair loss and to find a specialized center that has experienced specialists and all the necessary guarantees.
