How would you rate this SAT essay
The new SAT has a completely different rating system. The aim is to give universities a detailed insight into their performance. Frightened? Do not be. If you take the exam more than once, as most people do, you can use the detailed information in your score reports to create a customized tutorial and the skills you need for sharpen need (sharpen).
The redesigned SAT gives you many, much more results than the older exam. Here's the deal:
Compound rating. This is the sum of reading, writing and language and math (400 to 1600 points). The maximum SAT score is 1600 (with a maximum of 800 for reading and writing and language and 800 for math). The minimum is 400, which you can get for a little more than putting in a couple of ovals coincidentally pops up and bubbles (with no plan or reason).
Area evaluations. These are the values for reading and writing and language (200 to 800 points) and math (200 to 800 points). The optional essay gets a separate score which, while still fine-tuning, is likely to be 3 to 12 points.
Test results. This name, the college board awarded (given) is a bit of a surprise, because where else would your grades come from other than the test? This is the term applied to the three exam branches. You will receive a score for reading (10 to 40 points), writing and language (10 to 40 points) and math (10 to 40 points).
Cross test. These grades are determined by questions of a certain type in all three areas of the SAT (reading, writing and language and math). You will receive one result for analysis in history / social studies (10 to 40 points) and another for analysis in science (10 to 40 points).
Partial results. A couple of skills in the new SAT are so important as well omnipresent (popping up everywhere) that the college board gives them separate results. In the areas of reading and writing and language, you will receive a score for mastering evidence (1 to 15 points) and understanding words in context (1 to 15 points). In the area of writing and language, you will receive a score for expressing ideas (1 to 15 points) and standard English conventions (1 to 15 points).
The evaluation of the essay will be based on the first few new SATs. The current plan provides three partial results (reading, analyzing, writing), 2 to 8 points each, based on the addition of the grades of two readers who rate your essay from 1 to 4 in these categories. The math section has three points: 1 to 15 points for algebra, advanced math, and problem solving / data analysis.
A happy, wonderful development is that the new SAT has no penalty for wrong answers! You will receive one point for every correct answer you give, and no deduction for incorrect answers. This system removes a "trick" from the old SAT - play the system by guessing when odds were in your favor and skipped a question when you didn't. Now you can answer any question, even if you are clueless, unless you run out of time.
