What are load cases in Abaqus

AutoFENA

AutoFENA is the program of ihf with which one arrives at the full-area FKM verification visualized in HyperView or ABAQUS Viewer via the automated creation of load case combinations in a few minutes.

The FKM guideline "Computational strength verification for machine components" is a recognized verification procedure which reflects the state of the art. The method includes a static and a fatigue strength verification.

For the application of the guideline, the stresses in the verification point must be determined.

In industry, the stresses for an FKM verification are usually determined locally using the finite element (FEM) method. The proof itself is carried out at individual points either manually or with the aid of a computer. The most critical point of failure must be selected with an engineering understanding.

With AutoFENA, the required data is taken directly from HyperView (and thus indirectly from Optistruct, NASTRAN, Abaqus, ANSYS, ...) or ABAQUS and the verification for all verification points (nodes) from the analysis is automatically calculated. If there are several linear load cases, they can be combined. Any stress ratio R can be assigned to the load cases. The most unfavorable load combination is determined node by node and used for the verification.

The results of the FKM verification are read back into HyperView or ABAQUS Viewer. The user receives a 3D visualization of the degree of utilization over the entire surface of the examined component. This eliminates the need to select the most critical point and largely manual data entry with the associated uncertainties (incorrect entries).
